Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

That's mainly determined by Simulation Settings- outside a certain distance, typically 8 to 10 chunks (~160 blocks max) simulations stop. It'd be nice if you got more distance as I'd then process ore while mining a ways below.

Exactly! Why would the furnace stop working if I'm not close to it. Furnaces in real life don't need my presence to work.

Yes, it is worthless to have to sit and wait for my stone to be completed. Why even use hoppers if I have to be close anyway? Seems like a no brainier. I strip mine and some of my runs are more than 3 or 4 hundred blocks from my mining base. I put in Orr and have to sit doing nothing while it smelts. With all of the amazing updates that are put out, how hard would it be to change this extremely unrealistic waist of time. Could you imagine not being able to leave your property because your oven will not work?
