Please read the pinned post on creating new biomes and dimensions. Remember that individual items, mobs, and structures should still go in their own categories - this is not a category for entire updates.

The April fools dimensions have been something i have ALWAYS wanted in Minecraft. I have always turned to Mystcraft for extra dimensions. The pure amount of extra content added for the "joke" is absolutely amazing!

I Completely agree it is the most interesting thing we have received in a while and it has endless possibilities !

I agree, this concept has so much potential, it'd be a waste to make it a temporary feature.

In my opinion, the endless dimensions are so un-minecrafty. They belong in mod packs of nightmares. I almost cried when I thought this would be a permanent feature. Please mojang, don't add this monstrosity of an update. It was only cool as a joke.

I think it's a good idea to be able to add new dimensions and customize them: their biomes, the terrain generation, structures, and mobs in each biome. It's clearly possible.

Yes this should be an actual part of the game-- but I recognize that some of the worldgen such as elytra boats being so easily accessible is OP for midgame nether access. Maybe change the item required to create one of these portals so that you have to reach endgame before you can make the portal books for one thing.

I think you should get a secret achievement going to a random dimension

I just wanna say, no. It’s nothing like a Minecrafty vibe. Imagine coming into a dimension only to be killed by ghosts, blazes, blue endermen and red withers. Just no.

Love the concept too, but instead of including it in the core gameplay, why not make a gamerule about it that people can activate and it will unlock the craft for the box of infinite universes and so on.

Yes! This should most definitely be part of "core" Minecraft. That being said, it should either be controlled via gamerule or worldcreation setting so that people could turn it off if they want. I could see limiting it somehow to something you need to defeat the Ender Dragon to get could be good, too. Maybe Dimensional Portals need to have Purpur cornerstones or something?

Anyway, these were a lot of fun; and I really want this to be a part of regular Minecraft.

Oh, the option to use these to make old-school "custom" worlds again would be great, too. Obviously it is possible. I'm still running on my 1.7 world (that I pre-generated out a km or two in every direction before updating) just so that I could have a world with some tweaked generation. (a bit more chaotic, a bit more mysterious, and somewhat more resources, mainly)

As others have said in the comments, this should just be an option in world gen or a gamerule. I believe that the generation system for the dimensions needs a ton of improvement, though. It would make for a great optional feature.

Okay, I'm gonna be 100% serious. Adding this april fools update in this current state is not a good idea for a lot of reasons.

#1 The dimensions are all way to nonsensical and broken feeling.
    #2 They are horribly unbalanced.
#3 They are just hollow land with no new gameplay elements added. and mob randomization is terrible.

However randomized extra dimensions can be done in a proper and non-ridiculous way.

#1 Make the dimensions never resemble the three main dimensions.
#2 Balance and limit the randomization.
#3 Create a set of randomized gameplay elements, like randomized ores, block effects, physical laws, and maybe even mobs.
#4 If the dimensions has a sky, make the sky not resemble the overworld sky, one way is to add more celestial objects with different behaviors.
#5 Create a new type of portal for traveling to these dimensions and make it an end game endeavor.

The idea is that these dimensions should be actually alien and more importantly, believable.

I think that this feature has to be only avaible in creative; It would be a mess making this for survival

If anything, I would prefer this to be a part of a datapack released by Mojang, and available on the Minecraft website. Making "the infinite update" a part of the game would be a little overpowered, especially since it's so easy to go into another dimension and find entire worlds made of diamonds. Now, if there was a datapack released, this would solve two problems at once. People who want it added to the game could download the datapack, and people who hated the joke could just avoid it and keep playing without it. Good idea just the same!
