um this all depends on the amount of storage you have available on your switch. You need to clear out the games you dont use or move them to a micro sd card. storage is not something that can be added by negotiations it is moderated with proper management.

@lavagames3384 No that‘s incorrect. In fact for the switch every decveloper has to negotiate a certain storage limit the gane will be restricted to while on the switch. Nintendo wants to make sure that single games don‘t take up too much storage and users have a clear understanding of how much storage can be used by the gane before buying or downloading it. I don‘t like this and I think it‘s completely unnecessary but that‘s the way it is.

And it‘s a massive problem for minecraft, too. It basically makes it unplayable over time since your world takes up more and more storage as you build and explore but after a couple of weeks a worlds can easily be 1 GB. At that point however you already won‘t be able to store that world on your device anymore, because the limit is 2 GB and Minecraft itself takes up 1,1 GB. Only solution: Buy Realms. But that in fact is a rather shitty solution and to be quite honest not one at all really.

The only reason I bought Minecraft for the switch was to play it on the go. And if I have to be online all the time because I have to store my 1 GB world on a server somewhere instead of my device, then there‘s no point in me playing Minecraft on the Switch at all.

This needs to be fixed asap. Until then, excuse the harsh choice of words, Minecraft for Switch (bedrock) is unplayable and quite frankly: Pointless.

We literally bought this game 2 weeks ago and my son has already hit this per game limit. Surely this can be renegotiated to allow gameplay past a couple weeks?

This is even more important ever since the 1.18 update. I can’t even play because it won’t let me upgrade my world file, even though I have ample storage on the system

Switch Memory Issue: This is even more pressing since latest updates use more storage than ever. I've had to delete nearly all my backups and alternatives to my main world. It's not enough now, it needs to be increased! (Main world 250mb, 2 alternatives about 50-60mb each)

Yea its very sad. You can contact both companies and all your doing is wasting your time. It's pointless to have a long time world on the switch. Even if you do have a long time world it will get laggy if you have redstone farms.

Takes very little time for my son to hit the 2GB especially after investing in purchasing many mods and add on packs. If you buy enough mods you are gridlocked and cant play the game at all. Please expand this 2GB limit on switch. My kid sbould not have to dispose of worlds he spent many hours creating, or dit hing expensive mod packs that cost real money.
