Hoglins are too strong

    They should also be tamablee in some way to use them as a food source.

    The babies do the lowest damage of any hostile mob, and they also run away after being attacked, so they aren't an issue. As for the adults, they can be repelled using warped fungi, although you do have to place it on nylium(doesn't matter which, but it can't be placed on normal netherrack).

    Currently a shield works just fine in 1v1, but multiple hoglins at once still pose a problem. Personally, I think you should be able to repel hoglins by simply holding the fungi in your hand/offhand, but it might make it too easy to deal with them.

    But not too hard. I just was frustrated because I was swarmed by like 5 before I made this post so i only raged a little

    I believe so too. I have just spawned in a crimson forest, and it's nearly unplayable. I was chased by about 30 hoglins at once (as I was running from about 5 more and more agrro-ed on me), and I only managed to get out by doing a sort of divide and conquer strategy: which took about 45 minutes. Also, when holding a shield, hoglins can still fling you in the air which does a lot of damage without feather falling. Personally, I think they should only attack in groups of 2 or less. In larger groups, they would feel more safe and wouldn't attack. I think seeing as they have the health of endermen, take little to no knock-back, and can run very quick: I believe that they should be neutral in larger groups. Separating them from endermen but not making them overpowered. I think hoglins should also lose a lot slower than the player. If the idea is that they are big and bulky, and as a result take little knock-back and have a lot of health: I think they should also be a lot slower to keep in line with this

    I agree. I spawned in a Crimson Forest and I can't go anywhere without getting cornered by a bunch of hoglins. Even with the piglins that spawn and help kill them, there's only so much I can do against a bunch of tanks. I have a set of iron armor (gold boots) and a shield. They even have a really long reach so it makes it even more difficult to hit them with my iron axe. And then it still takes 4-5 hits with that to kill them with that. A bow would most likely work best, but they have so much health and it's too difficult to take them down without them demolishing you.

    I definitely second this. With a diamond sword and shield and nearly full (except for 1 gold piece) of iron armor I can't kill 3 before their constant attacks overwhelm me or break my shield and overwhelm me. They also spawn so prolifically even if you build in a warped fungus biome the neighboring crimson forest biome is so overrun with Hoglins they push into the warped forest biome and short of carpeting the entire biome there's no way to mitigate their spawn rate.

    I've also never, not once, seen a group of piglins kill a hoglin. The hoglin always wins. It's gotten to the point where if I get ambushed by Hoglins in the nether I just don't bother anymore and quit the game for the day to wait for them to despawn. They're just not fun to fight in any way shape or form.

    I mean I get that the Nether is supposed to be 'hard' but the hoglins make crimson forest biomes unplayable. How are super tough, super fast, super powerful, high knockback, high spawn rate, super-aggressive monsters that lack any form of meaningful mitigation mechanic fun? How do they not read as a big middle finger to player exploration?

    Hoglins are the most un-minecraft monster to be added since Phantoms and they really need to either be severely retooled or just removed. As they are there is nothing fun about them.

    I agree with this completely.I played in full diamond armor save for a gold helmet to keep the piglins at bay, and I was two-shotted by a single hoglin while using a diamond sword and shield. Another time, I was knocked back into lava and lost everything I had. And even if you aren't knocked into lava it's impossible to go back and retrieve your inventory afterwards because by the time you get back there's 500 more hoglins than there were before. The nether is supposed to be challenging, but it's not supposed to be impossible. As it is I haven't been able to play in the nether for more than 5 minutes at a time before I'm slaughtered by a hoglin and have to turn off the game because I'm so overwhelmed. All I want is some gotdang netherwart to cure a zombie villager and I can't get deep enough in the nether to find a single fortress because of all the hoglins in the way in every direction. I'm not exactly a scrub when it comes to combat, but the hoglins make the nether unplayable.

    so so overpowered, every hardcore run of mine was ended by the insane spawn rate of the unstopeble piglins that have so much reach, so much hp, they deal way to MUCH damage, they are insanely fast and the nilyum trees keep blocking my way but piglins with whatever reasone are 1 block tall so the can just go trough!

    YESSS!!! Tell me what Mojang was thinking making this. Seriously… THEY CAN HIT YOU BEFORE YOU HIT THEM. With a sword at least. How is that fair? Especially when they hit you really fast taking out 3 hearts each time. I tried killing one with my fists and guess how many hits it took… 40!! Are you serious mojang???!!! And then you go ahead and make them spawn in 2’s or 3’s like I’m really starting to think either mojang doesn’t like it’s fan base anymore, or is just out of touch with how fair and basic these games should work. And that’s not even including the other pigmen who spawn out of nowhere in 3’d rapid hitting you and killing you almost instantly. Tell me mojang how is this fair? So let’s see on one hand we have the fat pigs who run fast, do high dmg, can hit you first, and take forever to kill! And on the other we have idiotic pigmen who will spawn behind you, get to you in 1.5 seconds and start beating you with there buddies who also spawn next to him.
    Mojang: “Let’s make an enemy who spawns in bunches, is really fast, hits you before you can hit them, and have a lot of health. That seems fair. Right mojang???

    ik this is three years old but these things hit you like 8 blocks into the distance and shields dont even bock their attacks, they do once then the next one boom your launched, got launched into the lava twice, losing all my stuff, these things need to be nerfed
