Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

basalt furnace

I have noticed that basalt doesn’t really have any uses aside from decoration, So i thought, how about making a basalt furnace with it?

It will behave exactly the same as a normal furnace, except it will be crafted with 8 basalt.

why would this be useful? Personally I think it will be useful for a starting in nether challenge, Since you can’t cook pork or smelt the gold without a furnace.

also if this seems way to specific then maybe have a slight smelting boost, like 20% more speed so that it doesn’t take away from the smoker or blast furnace.

    I was thinking the exact same thing, I also thought it could possibly be used as a replacement for cobblestone in general

    So some time has passed and I think it’s definitely not as necessary anymore, gold ore now drops nugget and you can cook with a campfire, would still be a cool addition tho.
