One other thing that would be interesting to see would be armor toughness increased on golden armor pieces, similar to diamond armor's armor toughness, yet still having the lower protection that gold armor gives

Very good. People might wear golden leggings with their armour, or bring a set of golden armour to the nether. Challenging but cool.

The problem is the piglin bodyguards will attack you if the armor breaks and the faberable will not let you add defense so that’s the problem with it I also think that it’s silly that you would need to pieces of gold armor to trade with Piglins

I love this idea so much, & I was thinking of a similar idea when I saw that many players, especially speed-runners, were claiming that Minecraft has too much RNG, & that it really takes a hit on speedrunners. It should be more about skill than complete randomness. This was especially frustrating for players when ender pearl trades were nerfed. So by having a mechanic of having better barter luck when wearing more gold armor, it not only makes gold armor a ton more useful, but it brings skill to this system that many more will enjoy. Wearing no gold but distracting a piglin by bartering should bring the same luck as it currently is, 1 gold piece would bring slightly more luck, but 2-4 pieces would bring a lot more luck, especially maybe even extra quantities of certain trades too. With this, people would consider more on whether they want to try to mine for more gold or to find a bastion.

Like I hinted from my other comment, for your royalty idea, I think you should still be able to barter with piglins no matter if you have gold armor or not. I really like the mechanic of being able to distract piglins with bartering as we currently have it right now.

This is a really good idea, but I think that there shouldn't be an enchantment for this. This idea can also explain many work-related things...

I think this is a great idea but I feel it needs the piglins to perhaps be more dynamic in the way they act like them still following you for a while despite your armor breaking or all having different levels of respect for the player
