In minecraft there seems to be some hints at magic but never very explicit, however I think that we can improve upon this by adding what I call subtle magic. Essentially as a player you can invoke bits of natures essence to allow you to cause things to happen. The way you would do this is by first crafting an alter from a sapphire ( an ore added by this update) a sampling, a carved log, a flower and a blaze rod. Then you place the alter and surround it with a ring of trees, once you've done this you can call up a spirt by throwing a honey bottle a lapis and a blaze powder, it would also cost three levels of xp. This would conjure a random spirit that you could make a pact with by trading a piece of paper and a beetroot and and in return can gain a certain subtle power that has limited uses and can be accessed through the scroll and having more than one scroll would destroy all older ones attached to you. The ability would be like fire charges or ice or growing things. And there could be rare spirits that could give you powers of summoning certain animals and mobs and create rare resources. You also would have to wait one full cycle of the moon to summon another spirit. Thus is justa rough draft and would obviously need to be perfected.
