Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Ebony Trees (Black wood types and possible biohazard)

I wanted to focus and expand on the idea of adding Ebony Trees to Minecraft. First I think the tree could be added to an existing Biome, possibly Badlands, Savannah, or Jungle. This tree has a black wood texture so obviously all the black wood type items would go along with that blocks, slabs, stairs, fence, pressure plate, signs. 

Looking online I found reference to Ebony wood dust being toxic and being able to float in the air for days. This dust is being considered toxic. What if that could be craft this dust and create some sort of poison cloud block that would dissipate like ice blocks do in the nether or with light is near it. If you pass into the poison blocks you'd take poison damage. This could be a useful block against mobs as well for defense and for farms. 

To get the dust from the Ebony wood the Grindstone or Stone cutter could be used.

    I'm not sure about the toxic stuff, but I was about to post this one until I saw yours:

    An idea I had for Minecraft is maybe adding rare trees like black ebony.

    Since wood like this is, expensive, rare, hard to grow, endangered to some extent, and in some cases nationally protected because it's scarce- I think it would be cool to introduce it.

    Similar to how there's a payoff to having aged copper, there could be rare endangered trees that take as long to grow as it takes copper to turn green.

    This would give players a challenge to find and grow these trees but also cultivate the importance of tree farming and creating natural habitats to protect them.

    Just an idea!

    There are SO many types of black stone now especially with the addition of all the Deepslate variations. We really need a darker wood to complement and expand the palette. Dark Oak doors seem to look too bright now in comparison.

    We need something other than acacia trees to break up the monotony of the savannas. Ebony sounds like a good idea. Maximum contrast for those glowing white and yellow text signs!
