Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Wood Boards

I would love to be able to craft wood boards - half-height, half-width, full-length wood boards.

Crafting recipe would be similar to the crafting of wood planks into wood slabs - 3 slabs across makes 6 boards. 

Orientation would be along the axis the player is looking when placing the boards. Boards placed parallel would look separate.  If boards run perpendicular, where they meet would form a "cross" pattern (similar to how fences work).

I see a block like this being used in a number of various ways - both decorative and functional.  Used as an interior accent for builds (rafters or a ceiling bracing), exterior buildings (make decorative pagodas with a wood board lattice on top of fence corner posts), also as a safety barrier for bridges and minecart rail lines thru caves, the nether, or the end.

I appreciate the consideration and thank you for developing such a wonderfully addictive game.

    mitchel3535 - Not quite "quarter slabs" - think more like slabs, but half-width to match half-height, but still full length on the axis the player faces when placed.  Where 2 perpendicular board meet, it visually becomes a cross shape, not unlike how fences act when placed side by side - the exception being when boards are placed parallel to each other, they remain non-connected structures.  I'll see if I can make some sort of 3d mockup to better illustrate.
