This Idea would come in very handy for technical players in endgame Minecraft. I picture the urn block as a full block with various engravings in its design. The texture of the block changes depending on whether the block is waterlogged or not similar to the cauldron. Also like the caldron, when the urn is waterlogged, water will not flow from the sides. Different to the caldron, however, the urn is able to hydrate farmland and functions as a waterlogged slab or stair. I imagine the urn would be somewhat expensive (8 iron ingots in a chest recipe formation), which makes the block mainly a mid to endgame tool.
These are the features that I think would be the bare minimum for this block, however, I also have ideas that are interesting, but not necessary. Maybe the urn could be a redstone component: When the urn is powered, it releases or absorbs water on all six sides of the block, similar to a dispenser. The urn may be able to hydrate farmland in the nether, although this would be very overpowered and easily exploitable.
I thought of this idea when I was making an automatic melon and pumpkin farm. I needed to put the farm in an awkward position and I ran into a lot of problems with waterlogged blocks spilling out and breaking the contraption. The urn fits perfectly within the game and would be a simple solution to an old and frustrating problem of water breaking redstone.
