Are you sure you want to report this?

Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

i think this should spawn in the soul sand valleys cause the soul sand valleys have a kind of dark graveyard feeling

I think it would be a great idea, especially if minecraft had a mobile/hand held lightsource like a lit torch being able to be carried in your offhand.

U should make it with like 2 or 3 variants one being the lightest 2 being medium and 3 being the darkest

These could probably be used in the nether forests to make them even spookier. (I don't have the nether update yet but I have seen videos for it)

    I like the name Shadowstone

This could make soul sand valleys have an eerie feel to them since the rest of the nether is lit up. It would also be extremely useful in making maps.

I think this is a great idea, not only could it add a lot more contrast to the nether through having large chunks of Darkstone clumped together, it would be great for builds and maps as well. You could make a specific corner or hallway in a map very dark and hard to see in without having to force a fog effect, or have a huge revealing effect by covering everything in Darkstone and then removing it and showing the map go to you.

Sounds pretty interesting. Maybe you could use this to brew a blindness potion?

How would you tell the diameter of the area it prevents mob spawning? Since there's it doesn't emit light, I'm wondering how you could tell without googling it or something

If the function of "darkstone" would be to act as kind of a dimmer, wouldn't "dimstone" or something like that be a better name? Kinda like how glowstone is the name of the block's function plus the word stone

Sound interesting... A dark theme gameplay could really give a horror experience for players. I would also like to suggest changing the texture of Ancient Debris, they look like chocolate covered swiss roles...!

Sounds good. It could be very useful for making things like mazes with dark corridors without running the risk of a mob spawning

The Recipie should be Sea Lantern surrounded by netherite, and can only be mined by Diamond Picks

The block should be rare, or maybe it should be crafteable with ancient debris

Inversely, it could be placed to create a shadowed area, even in sunlight
