Souls could get corrupted when entering the Soul Sand Valley.

Any mob or player, when entering the Soul Sand Valley, can have their soul corrupted by the dead. When a mob spawns in the Valley, their eyes will go white, soul fire will encase them, and they will attack anything in their path. When the player enters the Valley, they will need some sort of potion, or armor, that will block souls from corrupting you.

 

I know, It's a little weird, given that the Soul Sand Valley doesn't really have a function yet, but I still think it'll be cool and interesting.
