Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Add the Alchemy Table in the Nether Update, to turn coal into gold

The Alchemy Table would be a new function block, with a similar appearance to a Brewing Stand. It would be crafted out of three iron ingots, a hopper, two blaze rods, and 1 magma cream.

The Alchemy Table would be, of course, used to turn coal into gold. To use it, place ten coal in the top slot, and a bucket of water in the bottom. The bar in the centre will slowly fill itself, until, full.

Once it is done, the bucket of water will become a regular bucket. In the final slot, there will either be: A gold ingot (50% chance), two gold ingots (10% chance), or nothing at all (40% chance). This inconsistency brings a bit of balance to the system. The Alchemy Table would really fit in with Minecraft, and would be a great addition to the Nether Update, as it would be a slightly easier way to get gold, which is to quite uncommon in Minecraft.

    With the amount of gold you can get from pigman farms and mining in mesas, along with the planned addition of gold ore to the nether, I don't think this would be used all too often.

    This would be fun, but the Alchemy Table is too easy to make. Even though there is a chance you won't get any gold, the Alchemy Table is too easily obtained for an item that would basically give you infinite gold (Coal is very easy to find, of course). And gold doesn't have too many good uses (Except for powered rails), so this wouldn't be a very interesting feature unless gold had an important use.

    @DismalCap568303, gold has plenty of uses, the most common being golden carrots. But gold is also going to be used for trading with piglins in the coming update, so I feel that this would be perfect. Also, it isn't too op because you still need to mine the coal, get the water, and you still only have a 60% chance to get anything even using 10 coal. Mojang could also just increase that amount if they found it too op, but I doubt they will. Also,  this would be difficult to farm since the only way to get auto coal is by using a wither skeleton farm (which, needless to say, is extremely endgame) and the gold output would barely be worth it with pigman farms in the game right now, especially considering the exp factor from the pigman farm. This would be a very nice midgame block to use in conjunction with a carrot farm to produce sufficient food, since by midgame you should have lots of coal and better ways to smelt and light up without it.

    Also not to forget wither skeleton farms

    but aside from that I think an alchemy table has potential, maybe change the design of the table change the format for the grid and give it a challenging quest to stop farming how about adding an insanely OP boss almost of that of the wither and give it a special drop using it's drop you can convert coal into gold or maybe with a certain amount of this new drop you can make new items possibly one that could convert your exp into an exp bottle so it can allow you to store exp after you die, to stop it from getting to OP maybe making it as example- if you have five levels convert in a bottle then if you splash it it will only produce four levels, this would be good if you want to give your friend some exp or you want to keep it stored in case you die. But the alchemy table has so much potential even to the point were you can make previous uncraftable items like the totem of undying for example if you wanted to craft it you would need some gold, emerald, 100 levels of exp and that special drop from that OP boss. I don't really know, I would like to keep the boss and its drop unnamed because maybe you can make an idea from that.

    This is one of the most brilliant Nether update suggestions I have seen yet! It goes so perfect with Minecraft and its alchemy aspects.
