Dedicate Hotbar Slots to Different Types of Tools

No idea how to explain this properly. Basically, the ability to set a specific function for each hotbar slot.

As an example, say you set your first slot for a pickaxe. You also have a Stone Pickaxe in your inventory, but not in your hotbar. You put an Iron Pickaxe in the first slot. You use the Iron Pickaxe until it breaks. Instead of having to open your inventory to move your Stone Pickaxe to your first slot, where the Iron pickaxe was, it would automatically move to the first slot when your Iron Pickaxe breaks.

    I disagree, there are a lot of ways that people feel comfortable holding items in their inventory, it would be impossible to make all players happy with that feature.

    And if anyone doesn't want it could be made so you could turn it off in settings

    I think it would be useful for this to work with blocks and tools. So if you’re building a large structure and you use all the wood in 1 hotbar slot but have more in you’re inventory then it automatically moves the wood to the empty slot. I also feel that for tools there should be a setting to not fill with enchanted tools.
