Playable Races

Make other races in Minecraft playable. I've always enjoyed the prospect of playable races in RPG's and would love to see a similar feature in Minecraft.

Races I would like to see.

Skeleton Race:

  • Just as a regular skeleton, you burn in sunlight without a helmet.
  • A new passive ability that enables one to heal in the darkness. Heals faster in absolute darkness.
  • A dark vision ability allowing one to see in the dark. Can be toggled on or off.
  • Not a great swimmer.
  • Oxygen not required.
  • Doesn't require sustenance.
  • Is not targeted by other hostile mobs unless antagonized.
  • Is targeted by Iron Golems and other entities that traditionally engage the undead.
  • Increased affinity with the bow. Better durability.

Zombie Race:

  • Just as a regular zombie, you burn in sunlight without a helmet.
  • Heals slowly in the darkness.
  • A dark vision ability allowing one to see in the dark. Can be toggled.
  • Oxygen not required.
  • Does not require sustenance, however heals more quickly if full.
  • Is not targeted by other hostile mobs unless antagonized.
  • Is targeted by Iron Golems and other entities that traditionally engage the undead.
  • Increased knockback if punching with fists.
