Right now in Minecraft bedrock, if you create an entity with multiple seats, they will always be in a specific order. If I created a star cruiser with seating for entity turrets with a seat for the player, for example, every time the player dismounts and other entities/players will shift seats to fill in the gap.
I propose that addon creators be given the ability to assign specific seats on entities to type families. This small change would be revolutionary for the addon community.
For those of you who don’t really see the value in this, here’s a list of things that would be made possible if we had this.
•Entity pirate ships with player mountable cannons (without interfering with the “driver”
•Space Cruisers with similar functionality to the above.
•An ark survival evolved addon that adds platform saddles with customizable entity walls
The possibilities are near endless!
Well almost.
Unfortunately the above isn’t quite enough.
“You are unable to walk on entities while they are moving!”
If I were to stand on an entity pirate ship and the “driver” were to sail away, the ship would sail right out from under my feet.
To fix this issue, in addition to the mechanic above I propose a new entity category, the vehicle category. These would act as a sort of block/entity hybrid. Able to move the player with the entity they are standing on. Yet the player is still able to move around while the entity is moving.
Addon creators constantly run into issues like the two above. Adding these would help to greatly improve the quality of addons in the community so far.
So even if your not an addon creator, please, don’t glance this over.
