Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Foliage blocks for fuel

Blocks of leaves recovered with shears could be used to bake items in an oven, smoker or blast furnace. Their effectiveness would be 2,5 seconds (150 ticks) for a block of leaf, which is realistic compared to the amount that can be recovered with shears.

Since the leaves burn, it would be logical to use them as fuel. Thus, a stack of 64 blocks of leaves would cook 16 items.
