Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Synthetic diamonds

My son and I think it would cool if you had a pressure cauldron and could make diamonds out of smelting charcoal.

    This would make diamonds way too easy to get. Diamonds are not that hard to get, just mine at level 12 and use a Pickaxe with Fortune III on the ore to maximize the spoils! I got a stack and a half of diamonds in a relatively quick manner doing this. (Also, an abandoned mine shaft around this level can be a good spot to look for diamond ore.) There are also mods and mod packs (like Tekkit) which allow you to do this, so if you want to play around with machines and stuff of that nature, that's also an option! :)
