With the announcement of 1.16 being the Nether Update, the Nether is going to finally become a viable option to build a home. One thing that is still missing from the Nether, however, is a substitute to flint and steel since iron and coal can’t be found there. Without a way to get a flint and steel alternative, igniting a portal to get back to the overworks becomes a much harder task.
This is where Firey Marigolds come into use. They can be found in different nether biomes near magma blocks and lava lakes and can since the player if they stand on them. These flowers fall apart when broken, leaving behind only one or two Brimpetals. Brimpetals can then be used as a single-use flint and steel in the event of an emergency. Firey Marigolds themselves can be picked up using shears if need be and four brimpetals can be crafted into orange dye.
