Villagers Deserting Village

If a pillager raid attacks a large village 20 villagers or more then when 90% of the villagers have been killed they should desert the village and run away giving the pillagers victory and saving there lives. They should run away in a group of all of the surviving villagers and run towards the nearest village. when they get there they should join the village.

    This is a cool idea, altho I would be careful as it may end in villagers swarming curtain spots. Perhaps villages at their cap or above could send villages between themselves or to abandoned villages to repopulate

    Or maybe make a bunker or safe area in a basement of one of the houses. It cannot be breached by the raiders. After the first horn of the raid the villagers run to it trying not to get killed, and after the raid is over as long as there are at least 2 villagers that survived they will repopulate.

    I do find the idea interresting with villagers fleeing their village if everything seems out of control.
    But there are some things that needs to be figured out.

    What prevents the illagers in the village from chasing the fleeing villagers?

    What prevents the fleeing villagers from being chased by other mobs on their way, especially if it happens during night?

    And for the fleeing villagers to be able to flee to a nearby village, the nearby village would most likely be required to be loaded including with all the terrain in between. This might cause some problems especially if the nearest village is 1000+ blocks away.

    Lastly I do think the villagers are actually more safe by hiding inside their homes than fleeing out of the village. Despite the fact that illagers are capable of opening doors. The illagers will usually pay their attention to players rather than villagers during a raid.

    Maybe if the refugee villagers could start some kind of "counter-attack"  against the Pillagers and a huge battle could ensue with a villager army clashing with pillagers. 

    But this will ruin the simplicity of Minecraft

    The Villagers would not attack, since the dev team already said they wouldn’t but maybe they can summon iron golems

    Abandoned or conquered villages could become Zombie Villages. The Cobblestone would turn mossy, the glass green/brown, the cats strays, etc.

    They should give villagers the ability to defend themselves if you try and skip the night cycle while your In a village you will find that there is zombies at the doors on fire and for some reason when the villagers wake up they open the doors and walk straight into the zombies. As long as you don't skip the night cycle you can keep your villagers safe at night by killing all the zombies banging on the doors.

    Good idea I think villagers should have more instinct because many villagers sometimes just stand there... when a zombie is approaching them. Although it should only happen in natural villages instead of player ones.
