Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Yes great suggestion but in bedrock especially you need to be able to see a beacon from far not just 5 chunks or less.

    My thoughts on this:

each layer retain current range/duration stats, but changes available effects
each block type (group) gives a higher tier functionality

all primary effects available from the basic pyramid (layers 1-3)
     > primary effects being: Speed, Haste, Strength, Jump Boost, Resistance
secondary effects available from the full pyramid (layer 4)
     > secondary effects being: Regeneration, Fire Resistance, Night Vision, Saturation, Slow Falling

Iron/Gold give potency of I for primary effects
Emerald/Diamond/Netherite give potency of II for primary effects

For example, to get Haste II, you would need any size pyramid built fully out of Emerald/Diamond/Netherite
Continuing with this example, a full size beacon made out of Emerald/Diamond/Netherite could give Haste II and Night Vision if desired

For the shear rarity of it, perhaps Netherite could double the range of the beacon, at any size (as long as it's the only material used)?
Also, notice how I didn't put any stipulation on material to activate the beacon? I would say for this to just keep it as is

I think the higher tier materials should give you more options... at this point netherite is king.  I'd love for a beacon to give creative flight mode.

Beacons should NOT let you fly like in creative, at least not passively since it would allow anyone else in range to fly. Instead, being in the beacon beam should float you upwards as a free way to gain height for elytra gliding (no damage taken if you fall out, crouching would descend you slowly)
Also, NO hostile mobs should spawn within its radius to reward players with peace of mind & give clarity to be creative.

Maybe creative flight can be granted temporarily within range by offering a nether star or heart of the sea, lasting longer depending on the pyramid.
