Cool idea, but steel is an alloy, meaning it isn’t found in ore. It would be made from iron and carbon(coal) and maybe by smelting iron in a blast furnace with coal? Idk how it would be made, but I’m sure someone could come up with an idea

I like the idea of smelting iron in a blast furnace to get steel, it could also possibly be crafted in the smithing table

Steel is made by putting iron in a blast furnace
These are already in the game

Steel should not be an ore, rather crafted as such in real life via the process of alloying iron with carbon

I love the idea of introducing steel in the game (crafted with iron and (char)coal), but rather for building purposes than for extra armour. I don't think we need an additional armour tier lower than diamond, instead, I would just replace the iron armour with steel armour.

I think it would be cool to have steel doors, trapdoors, blocks, ... similar in use to iron, but with a texture that looks more like the new netherite block. It would be perfect to use in medieval builds, since the iron doors we have now really don't match that style.

Steel has been needed for such a long time!

Steel as most people are familiar with can't be found naturally.

People make it by combining iron and carbon, so maybe we just put iron and coal together

steel could be made on a smithing bench . coal and iron=steel

I think that this could work really well if combined with some kind of alchemy element to combine various metals in order to form steel alloy.

Ok I got an idea combining iron with coal or preferably charcoal with a smithing table would turn those items into steel mix, then smelt it in a normal furnace or blast furnace to make steel ingots and it would be used for flint and steel because it makes no sense using Iron for steel

I think I know how we could make steel outside of ore. We could use the new smithing table to fuse iron and coal to make a steel ingot. That could make it so that it is more like an alloy.

I also wanted it as a door that can only be opened with Redstone, just like the regular Iron Door but the texture is completely solid all throughout. I always wanted to build with solid steel doors for storage and bank builds.

It wouldn’t be an ore. Steel is an allow primary of iron and carbon. The science in Minecraft would surprisingly support this and be fairly accurate to real life. Making it so the iron has to be smelted in a blast furnace to make it into steel is a great idea I feel. Coal/charcoal contains carbon, steel contains carbon and iron, would wouldn’t it work?

Steel blocks could be like a gray version of iron blocks.

Raw Iron + Coal = Raw Steel or Smelting Iron ingot in a Blast Furnace to get Steel Ingot
