Better lakes and rivers

Make it so lakes are bigger and actually look like lakes and not just ponds. Make rivers travel y levels so they aren’t just flat!

    Fish should spawn in Lakes as well.

    They should add waterfalls to go along with it. And add some new mobs that spawn specifically in rivers.

    My idea would be that the start of the river should be at the nearest highest elevated land (like Hills and Mountains), where it starts out with a small water fall and a brook. Then as it gradually moves to lower elevations, it widens, forming small rivers then in to large rivers.

    River variants can include:
    Shallow River (about 1 block high of water), Deep River (about as deep as 16 blocks), Rapids (a sloped river that's mostly flowing water.

    The rivers should always end into a lake or an Ocean biome and not just loop around. If there's a significant shift in depth as the river goes along, that's where the Waterfalls are located.

    This could be part of the caves and cliffs cause rivers come from the rain that fall in the mountains and if there bigger lakes underground then why not above

    1000% agree. It would be sick to have 30-50 block wide rivers, maybe even 100? the lakes also are very small, they just feel like puddles if im being honest. lakes should be at least 100 blocks in diameter.

    They should still have Ponds, just make them so they are't weirdly generated holes, they seem more like creeper holes that have been flooded rather than actual ponds.

    This honestly needs more votes; it'd be so cool to have more realistic rivers and lakes, they already updated pretty much the entire overworld generation, so why not rivers and lake generation, maybe this could be a feature in 1.19, since it sort of improves the wilderness aspect of Minecraft, it would make a lot of sense.
