Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

    I support this idea!

While it will make the acquisition of string trivial, without having Sheep, Loom and, maybe, Sticks, it won't be as easy.

So basically, my idea was is that a player rolls Wool into String by the use of sticks (think the distaff). In the process, sticks are consumed. Maybe also add the ability to color string (colored tripwires for extra sneaky wire traps?)

I have such a hard time collecting string and have thought that we should be able to craft string from wool. Just like crafting wool from string. We can make hay into hay bales and vice versa.

Agreed! In certain seeds, string is extremely difficult to find in Peaceful mode. I would kind of like to see a new work station for it: Spinning Wheel. I should be able to shear a sheep and spin it into string. Short of that, just making string craftable on the crafting table or loom would suffice.

This should definitely be a thing! I like the idea of crafting a "Distaff" on the Crafting Table with wool blocks and sticks, and then using that item on a new Spinning Wheel workstation to spin String.

Please!  Crafting STRING would go a long way to filling an alternate way to get string that doesn't coerce players with aversions to the dark and jump scares to have to wait up all night or go caving.  As a way to balance it and prevent an exploitable loop:  3 wool make one string.  It's costly but I for one would find it worthwhile.

    Regards.
