You may have stumbled into a strange purple biome at some point, these mooshroom field biomes are quite strange, it'd be interesting if there was a chance to find a portal, or materials to create a portal, somewhere inside of or below the fields. Once you enter the portal you are transported to a cave like dimension (ceiling and floor eventually lead to bedrock), in this place you will find never seen before mushrooms and fungi fauna, possibly one for each colour of the rainbow. This dimension won't have any chance of hostile creatures appearing like it's biome counterpart, but there may just be an evil lurking behind these colourful fields.
