Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Either this, or make the wooden stairs' crafting recipe give you 6 stairs when you craft it.

    Yes.

I wanted to post something on this and to expand on this, I would also propose a Carpenter Villager and the Carpenter would make wood items. During the 'work' hours, they would wander around the village and detect changes made to the village structures, like if a building was griefed and if there is missing blocks, they replace them.

They would do that with the AI being able to see what the schematic is and go through each block of the schematic.

It doesn't worry about additions, but worries about blocks that were replaced from the original. The villager cannot break blocks, only place blocks and if the villager cannot access the block, like if it were obstructed by another block, or didn't have an air block on any side of it, there would be storm clouds around the villager to let the player know something is wrong.

For blocks that are out of reach, like on the roof, the villager can still 'access' it from the ground, it wouldn't need a ladder. As long as there is an air block around it, the correct block will reappear in it's position.

As a secondary job, when there are no repairs to be made, or if the villager cannot find any repairs to be made, they make fences and build defenses around the village.
It does that by the AI being able to see the bounding box around the village and places fence around a barrier around the bounding box accordingly, but it does not build in areas the AI sees as a hazard and does not build around areas with lava so the fence will not burn.

I like this idea. Each Carpenter's House/Workstation could match the type of forest or wood around the village. If it’s in an oak area, the house would be made of oak wood, and in birch, spruce, jungle, mangrove, or cherry forests, it would use those same wood types. The same idea could apply to the chest inside the house, where the items would match the local wood type, like logs and related materials from that biome. This would make each Carpenter village feel more natural and connected to its environment.
