Sailing ships.

Sailing ships would allow to turn ship builds moving they would have many purposes to transport and even pvp combat you would need to craft a stern and rigs to allow the ship to move and a steering wheel.

    I would love this. Its engaging and would draw the Sea of Theives crowd. Honestly you wouldnt

    even have to make it craftable at a bench. It could be like a golem

    this would be cool if you could build a house on the boat so you never have to leave the ocean so minecraft can also get the people who like raft to join.

    House boat would be nice. With storage, bed, crafting and a helm.

    Here's what I propose: a medium-sized ship, about 3-4 times the size of a normal boat, with the ability to hold up to 4 passengers and can fit at least 1 or 2 chests. Crafting recipe is simple: have 2 normal boats of the same wood (one in the center slot and one to the left of it), 3 planks of the same wood on the bottom row, and 2 wool at the top-right and center right-hand slots. The ship will be 25% slower a normal boat, but it's balanced out with the extra storage and passenger space. Model doesn't change much: remove the oars, make it bigger, and add a mast with a square(or triangle) sail. Inventory UI would be similar to a donkey/mule's UI when opening up it's inventory. Controls stay the same. Adding chests would have the model of the chests at the rear. Adding a banner would add the design to the sail, or maybe just stick the banner at the top of the mast.

    Now, you could do a LOT with this addition: have pillagers spawn in these ships and sail in on you or an unsuspecting village, spawn the wandering trader in one of these and can trade with you out at sea, generate villages out at sea that can have these ships sitting in a dock of some sort. The list goes on and on.

    Absolutely on board with this. I think ships are needed for when we're exploring and have gathered a bunch of materials, maybe a horse or other livestock and need to get it all back home. In addition, I think we should have Wagons that we can transport filled chests or other supplies. maybe attach them to horses.

    I absolutely support building ships. Another reason to expans on ocean exploration. They could also introduce sirens on the side and pillagers being pirates.

    Not only that but maybe if u build a gigantic house and someone leaked your coordinates u can quickly turn your project into a ship and run off. That would be amazing

    There can also be a place for a bed and other things like crafting table and furnace at the back with the chests

    And maybe they could add nematodes that could eat away at the part of your ship that is below the waterline and the only way to prevent it is putting copper sheets on the wood below the water. Not full copper blocks obviously but it could work like how item frames and paintings are placed on blocks. It could give copper another use.

    Also, like how villagers get a job such as the fletchers table; there should be something like that so villagers can be ship mates! So if there is pirates like the pillagers on land, they can help defend your ship!

    Yeah, You can add 2 new blocks - a sail (crafted using sticks and wool) and a captain's wheel (crafted using redstone and ships). Placing a sails on any wooden structure completely in water would convert it into an entity and start moving. Captain's wheel would help you pilot it. You can add decorations too. To stop the ship just right click on the sail. It would fold up

    I love this idea. The best mod I saw to attempt this was able to transform a ship imitation of blocks into an actual Minecraft ship. This handled moving entities on the itself moving ship and also the water on decks below sea level.

    I think this would add exciting new ways to play Minecraft with new options for RPG, transport, design, and exploration where you could either fully embrace a life on the sea, or just use a simple ship as mobile base for your explorations, or to transport your loot or material to a new project.

    I think necessary features would be sails and/or propellers for propulsion, tows (maybe new twist on ropes is suffficient) and/or anchors to secure the ship, and rudders and/or ship's wheels for steering.
    And it could start additionally with complex sailing mechanics, fish nets, canons, new NPCs, waves, or new weather mechanics for oceans. And it would offer the opportunity for new features later on, e.g. NPC-ships, piracy (for which we already have parrots), krakens, more complex trading, whirlpools, tides, and any dangers to sailing you can imagine.

    I love the idea of exploring the sea in a boat.  but why stop there Minecraft should add pirates too so you can fight them and take their loot.

    Increasing the size of some ocean biomes would also make a ship more viable to cross it. Maybe add pirates increasing the need for ships over boats.

    I think this would be extremely difficult to implement, but very worth it. Being able to build a ship with blocks and have it actually function would be great. and a very cool way of transporting large amounts of materials and/or entities across oceans. 

    It would also make shipwrecks make more sense. Why are there shipwrecks if ships can't move?? how did they wreck??

    Well, it's a great idea for those who want boats like Sea of ​​Thieves and love caravels.     This HAS to exist! Also, I think that you should be able to make your own ship, and then put a steering wheel to turn it into a real ship. This would be REVOLUTIONARY!!! PLEASE ADD THIS MOJANG!!! YOU SAID YOU'RE GONNA WORK TOGETHER WITH THE COMMUNITY NOW, SO DO IT!!! ADD THE SHIPS!!!!!!
