Jungles are rare biomes and the only thing that you can grow and make a farm out of it are Cacao Pods. What if we add another one similar to the cacao pods with Durians.
Durians are blocks similar to the cacao pods but they only grow in tall Jungle Trees, perched really high up. It has 5 stages of growth, with the 3rd and 5th stage dealing damage when touched similar to a Cactus and a Berry Bush. When the Durian is in the 5th stage of maturity, it turns into an entity like an Anvil and drops down, dealing damage lesser than an Anvil.
Harvesting a Durian at stage 1 to 4 will yield no seeds while harvesting a fully mature one can give you the entire block. Putting the block in the crafting recipe will yield 6-8 Durian Flesh which you can eat, giving you a high chance of getting a Durian seed. Eating a Durian should restore maybe 2-3 hunger bars.
Now, eating the Durian will give you a short potion effect called Repulsion where mobs of all types will avoid you when they get close to you, just like a Creeper to a cat, and other players will slow their attack and speed if they get close to you.
You can also place a Durian Block and emanate a similar repulsive action. Immature Durian blocks will no longer mature if collected by Silk Touch and placed down. The emanating effect only applies to 4th and 5th stage maturity.
Not sure if the Durian Flesh can be used to make a Potion but it depends on you, I'm just sharing my thoughts as I live in a place that grows these fruits.
