Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

This is more of an automatic fish farming, this should only bait fish if this thing is going to be cheap, but if you want it to bait other items then this thing must be really expensive because if not then anyone can just AFK farm stuff.

This sounds nice. My idea for this to make sure it's not too OP is that it can only hold 5 fish, and can only have fish.

Cool, then you wouldn’t have to stand by a lake all day waiting to catch a fish. 😀

A way to balance out the idea is the crafted "cage" would only have say 15 attempts, when you collected from it after the 15 uses it would break, forcing you to craft a new one. Also if you scale its automatic attempts to 1 every 5 minutes, it'll be less productive than AFK fishing but makes gameplay more enjoyable. Instead of AFK you can build or work your base while the trap does a tedious job. Modifying the loot table for the trap could give a higher chance for fish, then junk with than a smaller chance for treasure as well to increase balance. However, all a trap does is reduce people doing AFK fishing to grind for resources. Upgraded fish traps could have longer durability (attempts) perhaps slightly faster rates, but a trap should always be slower than a player could fish on their own.
