Fortune on Axes should apply to Wood

Axes are meant for chopping wood, so why does fortune not apply to wood when on an axe? All I want is to be able to gather a lot of wood without having to destroy a whole forest. Just let Fortune apply to wood when on axes. Thank You!

The idea behind fortune is that with a normal pickaxe you accidentally destroy some of the resources in the ore. fortune just allows you to get as much as possible from each ore block. when youre collecting wood you already get as many resources as possible, breaking one log gives you one log.

This is what I’m saying man, I needed lots of wood for a build and decided to add fortune III to my axe to get more wood but guess what, it won’t WORK!!!
