During world generation sand and gravel can be generated unsupported by any blocks, you know what I'm talking about, where you break one and they all cascade.
Well, players walking over unsupported sand/gravel should cause a block update making it fall underneath them.
This would make traversing deserts, checking out ravines from the edge, Spelunking, etc a bit more interesting.
