Guilt is a potion effect that occurs upon killing specific animals, specifically endangered in real life or rare in the game. It is similar to bad omen in how it comes from a mob. I doesn’t go away until you sleep. It makes you have one less max heart (until you sleep) and gives you a tiny bit of slowness (until you sleep) and your pets will stop following you (until you sleep).
Example animals: panda, polar bear, dolphin, mooshroom, sea turtle. All non hostile baby animals, all tamed animals, and all named animals. Maybe I’m missing some rare or endangered species/mobs. Sorry if I did, I’m sure you will think of stuff.
This effect will not stack, like slow falling. Maybe guilt only is cured when you sleep in your current spawn pointed bed. Maybe tamed animals, like wolves and ocelots, get guilt too, and also get it when killing their own kind (cured via food). Maybe you get guilt when a pet dies to a mod you sent them at. Maybe all neutral mobs (but enderman) get guild when killing you. Maybe you get guild when killing other players (maybe to hard). Maybe guild can be toggled off and on in menu and options.
This idea is to give the ability for far more expansion with possible mobs so you at the Mojang studio can add things like sharks, owls, giraffes, ostriches, meerkats, elephants, more bears, etc.
This is not an idea from a mod or any existing add-on that I know of so this is needed in a mod at least.
