Easier ways to make servers

My favourite thing in minecraft is to play with friends but I cant seem to be able to make a server so I thought that it would be so amazing for it to be easier obviously it would be a bit hard but you guys could at least try cause it's easy in bedrock addition but not in java anyways thanks
