In its natural state, it would look like regular sandstone (or the orange sandstone) but it would have a darker colour, similar to the colour of Stripped Oak Wood. The clock would be just a little bit less hard than Stone and could be found in the desert mountains in large groups (same as andesite/granite/diorite are in stone when looked at regular mountains) and could also be crafted either by 2x2 sandstone (giving at least 2 blocks -expensive when from sand) or by mixing 2 terracotta and 2 sandstone blocks (giving 4 blocks). OR even an addition of a new biome Called Rocky Desert (Real-life deserts are more rocky than sandy) which would also have a Rocky Sand Block (texture mix between gravel and sand with brownish colour as mentioned earlier).
Why do I see it as a good addition? The desert biome is a rather nice biome which is about to receive an upgrade with palm trees but the biome as whole lacks in block diversity and as a long term player I often see desert cities (build by players) to be very monochromatic and boring. Darker (brownish) sandstone option would create what essentially is Andesite for stone, a similar variety for texturing and diversity in Minecraft.
