Nintendo has a 2GB per game per account limit. Minecraft devs need only apply for an exception.

If they didn’t want this to become an issue, why have “unlimited worlds” in the first place? It’s rather frustrating!

Apply for the exception with Nintendo. It has been years since Minecraft has been on Switch and there is still a 2 GB limit for save data. Just do it already. Thank you for your time.

I've been playing Minecraft for about over 6 months now and I've already hit this limit. Please work with Nintendo to increase save file limit. Even a 1 gigabyte will help. The issue frequently happens when I purchase a map from the store and I can't even use the template. Minecraft is an expansive game. The save file should be too.

They should add world sizes again so that they can prevent this! This never happened on the Console Edition!

I started a new world just over a week ago, have 1 world and no additional resource packs beyond the default. I have had 2 friends pop into my world but that’s it. In data management it’s says Minecraft is taking up 1.4 GB. Does this happen when you get a realm? Or is that their “solution” to this issue?

Myself and my daughter use this game on multiple devices so it's taken forever to see this, but the sheer amount of worlds and mods in the store, to buy it and THEN find out your app is at its limit is ridiculous! PLEASE, I love this game so much I have it on everything, I had it back before it had tutorial videos or anyone knew what to do with it... I bought the memory card to have room for this, to find out it can't use it anyway... smh.

It is now October 2025 and we are still having this problem! My child is now crying because they deleted literally all of their worlds in the hopes they could create one with an addon that is 374MB and it's still not allowing citing not enough space...

While viewing the game in data management:

    • We have 23.5 GB of free space in system memory (so plenty)
    • We have 213 GB of free space on the microSD card (enough for more than 100 installs of Minecraft)
    • 455 MB allocated to "Software" on system memory
    • 1.0 GB allocated to "Update Data" on system memory
    • 161 MB allocated to "Update Data" on Micro SD

With the game itself (version 1.21.113 of Bedrock on the Nintendo Switch) taking up 1.6 GB of space and Nintendo limiting it to only 2 GB, are you seriously making it so we can only have ~400 MB left for addons, worlds, save data, etc.??? Like I said earlier, even with zero worlds, we can't even create a world that uses a 374 MB addon since we have 360 MB of space left. This is absurd.

Either optimize your game files, increase the size limit globally, or allow us to determine how much space we want to allocate to Minecraft.
