Lessen Rarity of Bamboo Forests

I've been playing a 1.14 world for a few months now, and after exploring a radius of almost 3-5km around my base I just cannot find a bamboo forest at all. In some directions, I've spanned 10km and still can't find one. Is this just my world, or are other players having trouble locating them?
