Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Double grass shear able

The top and bottom of double tall grass and large ferns should each get their own item (along with double tall grass and large ferns as a whole).

A shear with SILK TOUCH on it should be required to harvest these. Players should be able to place down just the top or bottom of double tall grass or large ferns in survival and creative mode.

Finally, players should be able to craft the top and bottom together into a whole double tall grass or large fern, as well as place the top on the bottom.

The item IDs of tall grasses should be so:

[ current name] ; [new ID] 

  • tall grass ; tall_grass
  • double tall grass ; very_tall_grass
  • double tall grass top ; tall_grass_base
  • double tall grass bottom ; tall_grass_blades
  • fern ; fern ; fern
  • large fern ; large_fern
  • large fern top ; large_fern_top
  • large fern bottom ; large_fern_base

: and all the items should have new names that are exactly the same as their IDs, except the underscores are spaces.

    It's kinda a cool idea, however tall ferns and grass allow for creating more ferns/grass with only one piece. I know you said it would only be harvestable with silk touch, but the game making you use bone meal is better since it makes them slightly harder to obtain.

    Good idea, Nick B. I was simply trying to think of a way to make the tops and bottoms harder to get while also leaving an option for normal harvest.
