Stone cutter is a bit useless

    I believe the stonecutter was introduced in 1.14 not only because it's a requirement for villager stone masons, but also because it allows people who played on the Bedrock edition to be more familiar with the user interface.  Similar to how the Java people can simply memorize each crafting recipe in a 3x3 grid.

    you can still craft with stone the way you could before, it stone-cutters just make it easier

    I know I'm very late to this thread but I don't think it's useless. The stonemason is very good for farming ems and a stone cutter is a very fitting tool for a  mason to have. Plus, even though you can craft all of the things that stone cutters can cut stone into, stone cutters are at least semi-useful since they let you save materials. Idk about anyone else but it is pretty annoying when your one block short of being able to craft stairs so you just have 5 random blocks and you don't know what t do with them. and it can also be helpful for beginner s to mc as well.
