Shields with thorns

I think that it would be a great idea to make thorns work on a shield. Currently if you enchant a shield with thorns blocking will not cause the thorns to activate. You have to be holding in your main or off hand and take damage for the thorns to work. I think that it would be cool and make sense for the shield to work with thorns while blocking and it would be a quick thing to implement.

    Taking damage is the opposite of the sheilds purpose tho

    This makes sense as the shield absorbs damage just like armour decreases it, having thorns makes sense to me...

    I don't get how thorns works; a skeleton shoots you and it gets damaged by thorns on your armour. maybe the person who fired suddenly got an affinity with it? I don't know.

    Yes, there should be various modules for the shield, spikes, plates for catching the blade, a candle, as in a throne rondache.
    As well as the ability to cover the shield with copper, iron, gold, netherite.

    Or a new treasure enchant specific to shield that can only be found in a rare structure.
