Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Turn individual wool into string or carpets, or turn string into spider webs.

This would be great for me and I'm sure many others. I hate having to go out at night to kill spiders for string; do you realize how many times I've died trying to do that!?

This has an immediate impact on the meta of the world, making 🐏 a far more valuable asset, and for much the same reason that they were historically. Honestly, it baffles me that we can not do it already!

(I came to this feedback site, in part, to suggest this idea, I should not be surprised that it is already a thing.)

Sorry for the double comments, but this is important enough to warrant it I feel: I suggest that we have two new recipes: the "Spindle" & "spinning": it takes two sticks and a wooden slab placed in a vertical row in the crafting bench to make one: its a tool that can shier a sheep, but instead of yielding 1-3 pieces of wool it gives 1-3 string. Alternatively, you can put it in a crafting bench along with 1-8 pieces of wool and craft it down, this destroys the spindle but turns each piece of wool into 3 strings. (And like making a boat, it can be almost out of durability when you do that, so use it on live sheep till it's almost worn out, the spin up a pile of wool-blocks to maximize the yield-per-spindle!)
