Auto-Filling map (the holdable item)

For enjoying Minecraft in creative mode, a complete map (the holdable item) is mandatory.

A feature which would let your maps auto fill instead of having to fly over the area would be great.

The recent map system isn't great (paper around a map three times with no alternative for instant large maps) but is workable. The game loads "chunks", or whatever you call the world, sporatically. It takes almost twelve minutes to fill up one map, the load range is lousy and unreliable (meaning you sometimes needs to fly over areas twice or just stand in place for a while).

 

I think an option to have the game generate the world without having the player walk/fly to every corner would be great. If I had the option to just leave the system running for half an hour while nine full maps worth of areas loaded up, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

The only real hangup of creative mode is the rediculousness of having to fill up these maps.

    Yes, I need this! I had to give up a project because it was too long to fill all the maps... :(

    Also it would be great to allow a command that would give you an already filled map of a chosen location, so that you wouldn't have to move at all in creative mode.
