Surf Enchantment (Shield Enchantment)

There are already a lot of posts about why the Shield needs Enchantments so ill just go ahead with my idea.

I know its not that of a serious idea, just like the crossbow-rocket thing. 

But just imagine you could Surf on your shield.

I think it would work like this. if you enter Water while holding the shield up(only if you ENTER the water blocking, blocking underwater still works) you'll begin to surf, and you will surf as long as you hold the right-click button. the shield will disappear from your screen and you will only see it when looking down. for other players, you will just stand on your shield in surfing position. my idea for gameplay is just that if you press W you will go forward and you're not able to go sideways or backward, turning with your mouse only (just like in boats back then: you turn by moving your mouse and looking up or down has no effect). If anyone asks for an in-game explanation: its literally magic.

    You probably should balance it in a way to have it not fully replace boats.

    I really like the concept of surfing on a shield, but it needs a drawback to make sure it doesn't replace boats. Personally I would make it faster than regular boats, but only last for about ten seconds. After this point, the player would fall off, back into the water. Even with this nerf, it would still be fun to try out and utilize when escaping an island that's been overrun by mobs.

    What if it kept going without stopping, like riding a pig? That would be an interesting nerf

    What if the durability of the shield would lower as you used it, similar to soul speed?

    I kinda like this, but I think it'd be better to just surf down hills and stuff and not water

    Yeah, I think the player should "fall off" if 1) they move too slow, 2) if a mob such as a drowned hits them, 3) sometimes if they hit flowing water, and 4) if they hit a bubble column generated by a magma block. Columns generated by soulsand should launch the player higher than normal, but when they land they should fall off if they're looking downward or upward.
