An issue that sometimes occurs in Minecraft Java is world corruption for no particular reason. After this happened I've spent the last hour and a half trying to recover the corrupted region data so that I can resume on this world.
I propose a system wherein a world will auto-backup itself after saving and quitting. This ensures that should a random corruption event occur, the player data loss is minimal (and by extension, player time loss).
Whilst yes, technically speaking it is my responsibility to backup my saves, but when it occurs at complete random with no way of predicting when, I might be left with a backup a couple days old (say if I only perform weekly backups), therefore losing potentially days worth of work.
Therefore, I'd say this system is a necessary one for future versions of Minecraft.
