It is heavily apparent that a new combat system is in the works. I conceptualize would an elemental system would work within the game. I believe this could play into combat and other sections of the game.
1. What are the elements in question?
I took themes which can be found in the current Minecraft. I had the idea of four primary elements with subclasses within them. The primary elements are Fire, Earth, Water, and Void (void was inspired by the end and abyss beneath the word) and ice is a subclass of water.
2. Elemental Alignment
All entities have an elemental weakness. Pigs are weak to fire damage. Some entities may have resistances and immunities. Drowned are resistant to fire damage. Pigmen are immune to fire damage.
3. The Elements and Combat
The player could utilize weapons, which are elementally bound, for an advantage or a disadvantage if the player didn't probably plan. The player's armor could be crafted to have added protection from certain elements.
