A small tweak that could add an interesting twist to already existing creatures would making them able to see better, or worst in the dark, a good example of that would be... a villager, if an area is too dark for them, they’ll refrain from adventuring into it as doing so would lower their visibility (Lower visibility means the mob will need to be closer to objects or mobs before detecting them). Other mobs could work the other way around, like the undeads, who ,when light level reaches it’s maximum, will become blinded and have a more difficult time detecting you and aiming. Each mob would have its own downsides and upsides, but others, like bats or dolphins (Who both use echolocation) would be completely unaffected by that change.
