Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Obsidian Utilization

Hello all, welcome to my suggestion about Obsidian Utilization! With Minecraft recently celebrating its 10 year anniversary and with the most recent 1.14 update, I now see a huge opportunity to give more use to the block we all know, Obsidian!

1.14 added some wonderful new items such as the stonecutters, smithing tables, grindstone, and blast furnaces. With these new additions listed above I see a wonderful opportunity to give more use to obsidian. Along with obsidians current uses I suggest the addition of new items tools, weapons, armor, enchantments and blocks, all from obsidian! Below I will break things down by category very briefly:

Items: Obsidian Gem - obtained though
1. heating obsidian block in blast furnace
2. When mining obsidian, Obsidian has chance to drop Obsidian Gem, rather than block of Obsidian
(Open to debate which would be better way to obtain)
- used to create obsidian tools, weapons, armor

Tools: with the use of Obsidian Gem, and (open to debate) stick, blaze rod, or bone to craft Obsidian Shovel, Pickaxe, Axe, and Hoe.
- All have slightly better speed (mine and attack) and durability than diamond counterparts, but share same damage.

Weapons: with the use of Obsidian Gem, and (open to debate) stick, blaze rod, or bone to craft, Obsidian Sword.
- Obsidian Sword has better durability and attack speed than the diamond sword.
1.4 attack speed and 7.5 attack damage

Armor: with the use of Obsidian Gem, able to craft Obsidian Helm, Chest, Leggings, and Boots.
- All have much better durability than the diamond counterparts, they share the same max armor value as diamond armor, but they offer more protection +.5 more than diamond

Enchantments: I suggest two enchantments one for boots and other for sword and axe, both in ways to pay tribute to obsidians past uses.
1. Nether Traveler - boot enchantment, hardens lava into stone so you can walk on it
2. Withering - applies wither effect to target
-Since obsidian is used to create neather portals (where you can find a lot of lava and wither skeletons) and enchantment tables I feel these pay tribute to the old uses of obsidian.

Blocks: Chiseled Obsidian, Obsidian Bricks, Obsidian Brick Slabs, Obsidian Slabs, Smooth Obsidian, and Smooth Obsidian Slabs

I hope everyone can enjoy my suggestion and hopefully see it implemented into the game at some point in the near future! I have been playing Minecraft for nearly its whole 10 year life span and as a old time player I feel the game could benefit from these, especially with the way the game is heading now! Some of what you have mentioned in here already has an existing discussion about it, so please do a search and lend your ideas, discussion, and possible support to those if appropriate.As a helpful piece of advice, lists like this tend to not fall under items your community team can take to our developers because we can't tell what exactly people are voting for.     I love the ideas I think instead of sticks two iron like a torch can craft two iron handles/sticks for the tools. Also I think and obsidian shield could be cool too. This shield will have double the protection as a normal shield or at least be fire proof to blaze, ghast, and bows and swords with flame.

    So one, i think that sometimes obsidian dropping an obsidian gem would be better than the blast furnace idea and 2 i think that obsidian armor / tools would be awesome but really expensive because it could only be defeated by diamond+ pickaxe, and it would be like a blackish color with the texture of netherite.
