Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Different Kinds of Elytras: Streamlined Elytra

We have the Elytra. A special piece of equipment that is used to help players fly around their blocky world but is that really it? Don’t you want wings that have some style to them and they have their own unique abilities? Well that’s exactly what I’m gonna be talking about. I came up with multiple kinds of Elytras and they each have their own abilities. Each Elytra though will have their own section due to Feedbacks rules so if you want to see all the kinds of Elytras their names will be in the blue text for you to click on. Right now in this post I will be talking about the Streamlined Elytra.

 

Streamlined Elytra

Recipe: 1 Elytra and 8 Iron Nuggets

Design: An upgraded looking of an Elytra.

Abilities

- Supersonic Flight: With this new set of wings, they will make the user fly even faster then using the original Elytra.

- More Easy U Turns: Can now make sharp turns and still have that gathered momentum while in flight.

- Streamlined Elytra + Any Kind of Elytra: If you switch the Elytra in the Streamlined Elytra recipe with another kind of Elytra you get that Elytra but its streamlined(Ex. Flaming Elytra + 8 Iron Nuggets = Streamlined Flaming Elytra). However, the Armored Elytra cannot be used in this recipe so you can’t get an Armored Streamlined Elytra. Man that’s a long word for an item.

    These could be enchantments. Elytra have never had unique enchantments and this would be the perfect place to implement them.

    When I finally found the elytra, I thought I would see the world like a falcon, but instead, I felt like I was operating a motor aircraft. The reasons:

    –Perspective is locked in the direction to which one is flying to. Birds can look down. Imagine looking down and seeing the dizzying height... without nose diving towards the ground and losing elevation. This would bring so much more depth to flight by elytra.

    –Computer is slow and chunks don't load quick enough. A solution would be to have an enchantment that decreases velocity and perhaps increases glide ratio, similar to how slow falling does.

    –I am operating a propelled aircraft! Make flying more strategic by adding thermals and wind, perhaps in a weather update. Another benefit from this is the fact that airspeed and windspeed are two different values, i.e. a landing station is up ahead, and enough wind is blowing to make a slow and steady (very easy) approach onto the station.
