We all wanted to work on projects that intend to be dark. Sure, we have slabs and limited other blocks unspawnable. But I think we all want variety and to know a dark build is safe.
in the end, in the lower layers of the land, we have Lumostone. An ore variant found exclusively in the end (or some new dimension should the day ever come) to work for.
mine this block with an iron pickaxe or better to break the block into lumodust (drops 4 dust per block/4-8 with fortune 3)
when lumodust is placed on a block, pale blue dust (alike redstone) appears and then vanishes 5 seconds after placing. The block is still an occupied block and therefore mobs cannot spawn on that block.
placing lumodust adjacent to each other connects to each other. *this is not a form of redstone mechanic*.
should the player wish to visually see the dust to see where spaces aren’t occupied or to remove it, the player can place a soul fire torch or some other implement to light up the dust up to a 15 block radius. Alternatively, placing a block or removing the block it was on will break the dust off too.
*Does this Break the Game*
me personally, no. Lumostone is non-renewable, so obtaining it has to be earned.
it specifies where mobs can’t spawn just like any other non spawnable block so, you have to work to mob proof an area.
I hope the idea can really make a difference to the game for you all and improve gaming creativity experience.
