We all know the mesa biome (or badlands) doesn't get much love, seeing it has a lack of structures and mobs that can spawn in it. I think that Minecraft should add undead miners. Undead miners should look like skeletons, but with an iron pickaxe. Here Are Some Photos:
Health - 20hp (like a normal skeleton)
Damage - Easy-4 Normal-4 Hard-5
Bones - 0-2 (+1 every looting level. Chance of drop is the same as a skeletons)
Iron Pickaxe - 0-1 (9.5% chance of drop with a +1 percent chance added per looting level. Durability is 25-50, 75% of the time. Durability is 51-150, 25% of the time.)
Skeleton Head - 0-1 (can only be dropped if killed by a charged creeper's explosion, with a 100% chance)
Gold ingots - 0-1 (15% chance of drop with a additional 5% added per looting level. Every 3 looting levels it gains the chance of dropping an additional gold ingot. If in hand, than chance of drop is 90% with an additional 1 percent per looting level.)
Experience Points - 0-5 (1-3 more exp if has armor other than gold helmet)
Where - Mesa Biomes only
Light level - level 7 or less
Chance of having a gold helmet - Easy-25% Normal-40% Hard-75%
Armor (Not including golden helmet) - Easy: 0% Normal: 0-15% Hard: 1.875-15%
Armor Enchanted Rate - Easy: 0% Normal: 0-50% Hard: 6.25-50%
Info - Drop rate of armor is 9.5% with an additional 1 percent per looting level.
Iron Pickaxe enchantments and rates:
Fortune 1 (Easy: 0% Normal: 0.1% Hard: 0.1%)
Fortune 2 (Easy: 0% Normal: 0.01% Hard: 0.01%)
Fortune 3 (Easy: 0% Normal: 0.005 Hard: 0.005)
Efficiency 1 (Easy: 0% Normal: 1% Hard: 1%
Efficiency 2 (Easy: 0% Normal: 0.3% Hard: 0.5%
Efficiency 3 (Easy: 0% Normal: 0.1% Hard: 0.3%
Efficiency 4 (Easy: 0% Normal: 0.05% Hard: 0.1%
Efficiency 5 (Easy: 0% Normal: 0.005% Hard: 0.05%

Info - If the code for the pickaxe gives it efficiency 1 but then gets efficiency 2 the efficiency 1 gets replaced with the 2 (just an example).
Will try to attack villagers like zombies (although rare because there are no mesa villages). I tried to make this as related to normal skeletons as possible while still making it a seperate mob. Chance of holding a gold ingot are listed: Easy 1% Normal 2% Hard 5% Burns in daylight unless has a helmet of course. Hostile towards players. Will detect players from 16.0 blocks away.
