Ice Crystal Dimension
The next major vanilla jump for Minecraft could be anything, but I have an interesting idea. The add on should be a dimension in which there is a lot of ice, and different colors of ice too. Crystal ice should appear as well, and breaking it drops packed ice, and crystal shards. Putting 9 crystal shards together creates a full crystal, which could be used to make armor, tools, and blocks. There could be different colored crystals for different buffs, and the protection offered should be better than Iron, but variant as to whether it is better or worse than Diamond. For example, red and lime green may be worse than diamond, where dark blue and orange could be better, and the levels of tools would vary too. Where say, orange could be the best sword, pink could be the best pickaxe. The boss should drop rainbow crystals, that can be used in conjuction with 8 other different crystals to creat a spawn egg for harder version of said boss. Those same crystals it drops could be used to create even more tools and armour, with all of the buffs combined. Each different armour or tool should have adifferent buff depending on the crystal type. There could even be villages in this dimension, which could sell potions, and other valuables. The boss itself should be reminiscent of a yeti, with colored details, and should be harder than the ender dragon, since its drops are obviously better.
Orange should give a damage boost, but should decrease speed by .10. Its armor should have thorns. The pickaxe could have fortune and so on.
Dark Blue should have a very quick attack speed with the sword, and +.15 speed. The armor may have feather falling. Axes could make use of a new enchantment, tree falling, which removes all wood touching the block you're breaking.
Purple swords could give poison, but only when crouched. Armor could be on par with diamond.
Pink could give an extra heart for every 5 hits landed within say, 10 seconds. Armor should give less protection than diamond, but extra hearts.
Red may deal an extra heart of damage, but in return, it could cause 5 seconds of slowness unlessed crouched. Red armor should combat knockback.
Light blue may shoot a projectile, but armor have a weakness against arrows.
Green should give a +.10 speed on grass or dirt, but be slower on stone, and non-grass surfaces.
Yellow could temporarily reverse your opponents controls or force them to stop, and the armor could emit light in darker areas.
Lime green could offer half a hunger for every 15 seconds held, and the ability to glide for a short time when above 100 on the Z axis.
Black should give opponents the wither effect and the pickaxe should be able to mine bedrock. The armor should make the user invisable, including the items held. With the full set of armor, it should set keep inventory to true when at a 200 block radius from spawn. The downside to this is that the tools (except the pickaxe) are only half a hitpoint better than Iron.
These are just my silly ideas, so take them with a grain of salt, as some of this is admittedly a bit out there in terms of vanilla gameplay, but would be cool to see nonetheless. What does everybody else think?
